The Five of Cups deals with loss, disappointment, and regret. Although the individual has experienced some kind of grief, not everything is looking down. The best course of action is to stop dwelling on the negatives and to focus on the positives that remain.
This card shows Arashi as she sadly confirms that she has lost the ability to conjure a sword from her hand, her power as the Shrine Maiden of Ise and as a Dragon of Heaven. Now she fears that she will be useless, merely a burden to her comrades. She does not realize that she can still provide a lot of support, especially for Sorata, and that her disappearance will cause even more distress.
