Nine of Wands

"CONSTANT VIGILANCE!" - Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody

The Nine of Wands depicts someone who has been wounded by past experiences, and thus feels wary and defensive. However, that character is also strengthened by prevailing over the hardships.

There is no character in the books more visibly scarred than Mad-Eye Moody. In his career as an Auror, he has battled the most vile dark wizards and curses on the front line. As a result, he has become extremely cautious and paranoid, even to the point of seeming somewhat unbalanced. However, Moody is by no means incompetent, as his extensive experience makes him very hard to catch off-guard.
